With the political game approaching, learn the terms! ))
Read post ↗Today I received confirmation that the domain 1exodusgame.com has been registered.
Read post ↗I launched a group: Exodus Game Group. If you aren't in it, join us! It's a place to discuss things and ask questions. I'll also post links there to everything on the page, because Facebook doesn't always distribute updates properly ;) By the way, does anyone know groups, associations, or forums for people interested in science fiction and role-playing? Leave links here. Thank you!
Read post ↗Stephen Hawking's final work will be published soon. In it, he develops a mathematical model... I'll leave you in suspense. The paper is available as an electronic preprint: “A Smooth Exit from Eternal Inflation.”
Read post ↗You asked for engine specifications? You got it. Just keep in mind that in the first policy session, your countries don't have that information.
Read post ↗Keep signing up for the political game! If you've signed up, choose a faction and tell us your choice here. I'm adding India as well. Think of a new name for it. Once all the factions are taken, we'll start! There will be an introduction and an event. I'd like to begin next week.
Read post ↗I want to sincerely thank everyone who's helping design and develop the game. You can't imagine how important your contribution is! Here's an example. We watch a film and see things that make no sense, plot holes and mistakes. I can understand them. I even know why they're there in particular places. The flow of the action, pacing, and sheer beauty often matter more than realism. But that's film. Unfortunately, this approach to design has migrated into most modern games. That won't do! A film lasts two or three hours. We enjoy it and forget it. We return to an interesting game again and again and spend tens or hundreds of hours with it. Naturally, we start noticing inconsistencies and plot holes.
Read post ↗Right. I have an idea. Let's use a method we've tried before. I'm ready to let people role-play the leading factions. One person, one faction. As events unfold, I'll model the situation, and you will respond as you see fit. In character, of course, and with a serious approach to the process. Ideally, your actions and reactions will determine the balance of power and the situation at the start of the game. In effect, we'll be creating the backstory now. I reserve the right to make changes if something goes completely wrong, but I hope that won't be necessary.
Read post ↗Let's use our imaginations a little. I need your feedback!
Read post ↗A small piece of the star map. This is roughly what our real stellar neighborhood looks like. All coordinates come from astronomical reference sources. The visual polish will come later. ))
Read post ↗Things are moving along. The planet-surface module is almost ready: the place for bases, buildings, troops, and the economy. The star-system module is humming along. The stellar-navigation module is half alive but moving, and ship combat is still in its infancy but already stirring. I hope to start building the server side next week. What is still missing is the final planetary module, plus a lot of additional interface work. Progress continues; code is being written. If you'd like to join the project, we're waiting for you! There is work for people of any skill level and background.
Read post ↗I haven't written for a long time. Various circumstances in my life forced me to take a long break from hands-on work.
