What do you even call this? I was migrating the project from Unreal Engine 5.7 to 5.8, and the project started crashing. I tried everything I could think of and even brought in AI with direct access to all the files.
Login through the new website started working today. We're doing it properly: encryption, agreements, account recovery, and so on. If you want to avoid running into “this name is already in use,” you can register your account now. It will also be valid for logging into the game.
So, what's new? I registered a new domain that will host both the game and the new website.
Finalexodusgame.com
We're taking it seriously now. No more WordPress or OpenCart.
The first stage of work on ship modules is complete. All the modules have been defined, and templates for creating them have been made. There is still polishing to do, of course, but the result is already impressive.
In short: more than half of the ship modules are ready for the first version. There is still a great deal of polishing to do, of course, but we've passed the halfway point of a very difficult task.
I already wrote that a short story set in the Final Exodus universe had been published. That was only a warm-up, although I strongly recommend reading it.
I want to tell you a little about our game's story elements.
It may seem that we're making just a large, complex economic and political simulation. That is not quite the case. There is a very important feature that perhaps sets our project apart from all the others, along with many more features we'll discuss later.
I'm working on part of the R&D package, starting with ship modules. The idea is this: if the player has the appropriate building and specialists, as well as a hired agent acting as chief designer, they can design a ship module, or an entire ship, themselves.
Our project has undergone a small rebranding. The game is now called Final Exodus. Unfortunately, another game took the original name before us. But there isn't much to regret; perhaps this name is even better. Our website at 1exodusgame.com is running, and we'll soon add another address, finalexodusgame.com. We've also launched a Discord server and are in the process of publishing the project on Steam.
