Right. I have an idea. Let's use a method we've tried before. I'm ready to let people role-play the leading factions. One person, one faction. As events unfold, I'll model the situation, and you will respond as you see fit. In character, of course, and with a serious approach to the process. Ideally, your actions and reactions will determine the balance of power and the situation at the start of the game. In effect, we'll be creating the backstory now. I reserve the right to make changes if something goes completely wrong, but I hope that won't be necessary.
The list of factions is in the previous post. The story will begin with a statement at the UN and the start of a planetary catastrophe. The "game" will proceed slowly, in individual sessions. Contact with other factions is allowed.
Detailed arguments backed by real links are welcome. That worked well with India, when I mistakenly thought it didn't have its own space program.
We need ten people. We'll start the simulation even if we don't have the full number.
