Email and the registration mailing are working. The website's appearance may still change substantially as we try and check templates, but its functionality remains the same. I manually sent passwords to those who had already registered.
Hey, everyone! The sailing season went well, and the financial target was met, with some extra. There are still more outings ahead, and a VACATION, but I now have time to work on the project again. Danya has been quietly working, and continues to work, on the server side. We've decided to seriously consider moving from Unity to Unreal Engine. The old website has been thrown out and a new one made with WordPress. There is hardly anything there yet... BUT! It is a normal working environment with proper content management. I've already added LANGUAGES and... ta-da... a FORUM!
So come in and register. We can and should start talking actively on the forum. As of now, 1exodusgame.com is our main place for communication!
Everyone, the process has slowed down somewhat because the sailing season has begun. In summer, I earn money by taking people out on the yacht; it's a business I've had for a long time. The past three weeks have been a veritable paint-and-varnish nightmare. Preparing the boat for the season is a large and difficult job, and it's almost finished. Yesterday we had our first commercial outing. The boat will now take time away from the project, but much less than before. Sorry, but I have to make a living somehow.
And the website is up. It is still rough and unfinished, but it has come to life: 1exodusgame.com.
The hosting is entirely ours. Tomorrow I'll add the forum. I finally won my battle with Apache, providers, and DNS registrars. ))))
1. We reached Phase 2 and are paused in a time stop. Preparing the yacht for the season is taking my attention.
2. I launched the server today. Tomorrow I'll attach a basic website and forum.
3. We will use the same server to build the foundation for the computer simulation.
4. Work is under way on the factions' initial ships and their formation. It's going slowly, but I'll pick up the pace soon.
Results from the first day of the political game.
1. Almost all the players have joined.
2. I'm pleased with many of them, and very pleased with the rest.
3. A lot of interesting activity is taking place out of public view.
4. Danik brought in a working client-server connection, so test creation of real accounts isn't far off.
5. There are still places available in the game.
For those of you who are still asleep. )))
The first RPG session began late at night, and while you slept, someone was already plotting intrigues ))))))))
In short, it has begun. And by the way, there is still a chance to join. For now, I'm playing several major countries myself, and second- and third-tier countries are waiting too.
The first session starts Monday. You can join the game while the session is under way and take additional countries, especially those in the second and third tiers, as well as organizations. The Game Master will play unclaimed countries neutrally.
I very much hope we find players for China, Japan/Korea, and Singapore/Malaysia.
I hope all players have had time to learn about their countries' policies and geopolitical interests.
The game will begin in the Exodus Game RPG group, which I hope everyone has joined, with a UN statement and an introduction to the events.
Where have all the interested people gone after receiving the instructions?
Everyone, please let us know! Let's choose the remaining countries. If there are more of you, we'll distribute the cacti and organizations as well, and then we can begin!
About the political game: which blocs are taken and which are available. Strictly speaking, there are no blocs yet. There are countries. Some have the potential to form the core of a bloc, some have the potential to be useful within one, and some don't fit anywhere. Primary, secondary, and tertiary.
Primary status is determined by scientific and technical capabilities in the space and aircraft industries. That's the foundation for building ships, and this factor will be decisive. Secondary countries can't carry out projects like these independently but offer undeniable benefits to primary countries. Those benefits may be political, economic, technical, or religious.
Tertiary countries are those that, in my judgment, don't fall into either of the first two categories. That isn't good or bad; it's simply a classification.
Players can overturn these categories.
Take Iran, for example. I don't know which primary country would agree to cooperate with this cactus, BUT!!! If the players can make it work, I'm all for it!
Rules for our political role-play.
We'll create a separate group called Exodus Game RPG. Anyone may read and join it. Only players and the Game Master may post.
I'll be the Game Master, whether I use the Exodus account or my own; that doesn't matter.
Recruitment for the political game has clearly stalled. That means those who have already signed up should tell their friends and acquaintances about it. We don't strictly need ten people, although it would be very welcome. So come on, everyone, join in! I'm still busy today, but we could start as early as tomorrow.
